Congrats to HPHY Adjunct Research Assistant Pedro Abdala!
Pedro Abdala, 2014 Human Physiology Graduate and current Adjunct Research Assistant has been awarded a highly competitive award from OHSU and the Scholars for a Healthy Oregon Initiative (SHOI). Pedro will start at OHSU School of Medicine Fall 2016.
SHOI provides eligible students with a unique opportunity to help address healthcare disparity in the state of Oregon. In return, funding recipients agree to practice as a healthcare practitioner in a rural or underserved community in Oregon for a minimum of one year longer than the total years of funding received.
Pedro Abdala graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Oregon in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology and a Minor in Biochemisty. He has been working as the Adjunct Research Assistant under John Halliwill in the Exercise & Environmental Physiology lab since July 2014.
