Dr. Chou receives Outstanding Faculty Leader Award

Congratulations to Dr. Li-Shan Chou, Human Physiology Professor & Department Head. The Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence awarded this achievement to Dr. Chou at a celebration along with the Asian Pacific American Student Union for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The celebration and award ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 6th at the Ford Alumni Center. The APASU also recognized the achievements of outstanding Asian Pacific American leaders in the study body, and community throughout the evening.

“As a faculty member and now department head of the Human Physiology Department, Li-Shan Chou has strived to bring excellence and diversity to the department and the University.  He co-founded the UO Chinese faculty network to connect the Asian UO faculty together.  Within the department, he has actively recruited students from China, Japan, Thailand and Taiwan.  He has hosted five visiting scholars to conduct research in his Motion Analysis Laboratory from Taiwan, China and Korea.  As the head of the department, he has strengthened the diversity and inclusion goals.  He is praised by faculty and staff for his leadership style and administrative excellence.”
